- The Supreme Court ruled against a challenge to the Food and Drug Administration's regulatory approval process of the abortion drug mifepristone.
- The high court gave a unanimous decision that challengers to the FDA lacked standing to sue the government.
- "Under Article III of the Constitution, a plaintiff's desire to make a drug less available for others does not establish standing to sue. Nor do the plaintiffs' other standing theories suffice," Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote.
2. G7 leaders agree to lend Ukraine billions backed by Russia’s frozen assets
- Leaders of the G7 wealthy democracies have agreed to engineer a $50 billion loan to help Ukraine in its fight for survival.
- Interest earned on profits from Russia’s frozen central bank assets would be used as collateral.
- The money could reach Kyiv before the end of the year, according to U.S. and French officials.
3. Russian prosecutors finalize indictment of Evan Gershkovich
- Russian prosecutors had finalized the espionage indictment against him
- He will be tried in Yekaterinburg, where he was arrested more than a year ago.
- Mr. Gershkovich should get transferred from the notorious high-security Lefortovo prison in Moscow to stand trial in the city.
